Nice story from Great-Britain

Vietta Williams is taking a year out of showing due to a foot injury which is why things have been quieter in the Williams camp. Until now that is....
Vietta's stablemate Jornvic, has not meantime been idle. He has been judged as this year's Edenbridge & Oxted Agricultural show's Foreign Breeds Champion which he won against stiff competition and in our opinion, deservedly so. This is what it is all about. Our quality fjords showing what they can do against other quality breeds.

Peter told us that the In Hand class was at the early hour of 7.45 in the morning which meant being up at 5 to the dreaded sound of rain on the roof. Anyone who has ever shown knows how long preparations for a show take and rain can turn the horse into a dragged out of the field specimen in minutes.
Peter said that after the judges first selection they were placed 4th behind a very nice Friesian stallion and a smart warm blood. They did their individual shows and were walking round, expecting to be placed as were when the steward raised his hat towards Jornvic . Peter said he just could not believe it. Ellie, his wife said his facial expression was priceless. Peter quotes ' The judge said that he was a prime example of the breed and that we should be very proud of how he has turned out. We found him 3 1/2 years ago as skin and bone and could hardly trot and Lyn traced his proper fjord passport for us.'

The Championship was held after the ridden class so they had a two hour wait in the rain, but it was certainly worth it the judge had no hesitation in calling Jornvic forward as Champion and chose the Friesian as reserve.

Just before the prestigious Edenbridge & Oxted show, Peter & Ellie to Jornvic to a little local show at Underriver just to get him out and about . They entered him in four in hand classes and he came home with 3x 1st places and 1x 2nd. What a fantastic 'out and about' day for Jornvic and the breed.

Sunday Jornvic goes to the Shoreham Heavy Horse show and later in the month he is off to the Sunshine tour Championships at Hickstead where he has qualified for four classes.

A huge 'well done' to Peter, Ellie and our star Jornvic. We wish you success at Shoreham and the Championships at Hickstead.
